"The Comforter" depicts Christ cradling the face of the lost sheep. Lee created this piece as a gesture of gratitude. She shares, "I painted this one as a thank you to some of my friends." The painting illustrates the parable where Christ leaves the ninety-nine to find the one lost sheep, emphasizing the importance of the individual to the Savior. Lee describes how the painting illustrates, "that connection with Christ," as the lamb, "so scared and lost," has Christ's hands tenderly supporting its face, promising protection and reassurance. Lee expresses how Christ tells us, "I'm here, I've got you, and it's going to be okay," a message she hopes is conveyed through the painting. Lee's work on "The Comforter" is imbued with emotion and intimate connection, as she wants the viewer to feel that Christ is there for them in their moments of fear and uncertainty, just as He is for the lost lamb. Lee shares, "I just think it's such a tender moment that... it can be our tender moment too because the lamb represents us." The image is a powerful reminder of Christ's constant comfort for us, the sheep of His flock. Custom prints of this painting are now available.
